Dayton Fair

Elizabeth Voight 2018 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen


Following a visit to the Washington County fair, it was off to the Dayton Fair later in the day on August 12.  On my way to Dayton, I could not help but admire the beautiful rural country side and mountains of Pennsylvania.  In contrast, for the very first time my mom and I drove through the heart of Pittsburgh and appreciated the city landscape as well.  Upon arriving at the Dayton Fair, I was immediately greeted by a good friend, Gabi Kriley, the 2017 Dayton Fair Queen!  We were then joined by several other newly crowned queens as well as queens I had met at the state convention.  It was so nice meeting with the new queens and hearing about their journey so far.  I enjoyed catching up with the 2017 West Alexander Fair Queen, the 2017 Indiana County Fair Queen and the 2017 Clearfield Fair Queen!  Pictures were taken, a tour of the Great Dayton Fair grounds was given and we prepared for the queen coronation ceremony that evening.  I was honored to be a part of their ceremony and spoke briefly about my reign as the 2018 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen.  Congratulations to the newly crowned 2018 Dayton Fair Queen!  It was just a pleasure to attend the Dayton Fair!

Manheim Community Farm Show

Elizabeth Voight 2018 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen On October 8, I visited the Manheim Community Farm Show...the LAST fair.  What a nice way to wrap up my fair travels!  Upon arrival I was given a tour of the fairs grounds.  Pumpkins, corn shucks, and lights lined the walk ways showcasing some products from the harvest season.  2017 Manheim Community Farm Show Queen, Emily Witmer, greeted me and we enjoyed catching up!  I had the pleasure of getting to know her well at the state convention in January.  I then, took part in their royalty ceremony and spoke about my role as the Pennsylvania State Fair Queen.  I was honored to participate in their ceremony as they crowned their new queen.  What I admired most about this fair was the strong sense of community!  Special thanks to the Manheim Community Farm Show for your warm hospitality and a wonderful evening!

103rd Pennsylvania Farm Show

Elizabeth Voight 2018 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen On January 5-12, I took part in the 103rd Pennsylvania Farm Show!  It is the nation's largest indoor agricultural exposition under one roof, with near 6,000 animals, 10,000 competitive exhibits and 300 commercial exhibits, and attended by over 400,000 people.  I had the opportunity to participate in many events including the PA Preferred VIP Reception, a photo opportunity with other commodity representatives and Secretary of Agriculture Russell Redding, the Opening Ceremonies, the Livestock Sale of Champions and the Celebrity Draft Horse Team Driving Contest!  Also, I enjoyed exhibiting my Angus cattle.  Many thanks to all the Farm Show staff, volunteers, exhibitors, and consumers who made this event such a success!
