Elizabeth Voight 2018 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen Friday night lights- no, not the opening night of high school football but the Elizabethtown Fair!  August 24th marked the second to last day of the Elizabethtown Fair where I enjoyed being a part of a few of the many activities.  After being warmly greeted by Deidra Bollinger, the Elizabethtown Queen Coordinator, and royalty, I helped with the Arts and Crafts Auction.  I was then excited to be given a tour of the fairgrounds.  Fairgoers, volunteers, and exhibitors all work hard throughout the year for one week, and it was so nice to have no rain and see a packed fairgrounds supporting these folks!  On my tour, I saw perhaps one of the larger Lego exhibits, the largest milkshake line, and a huge exhibit hall showcasing numerous 4-H and Open exhibits ranging from fruits and vegetables, quilts, clothing, baked goods, paintings and photography entries.  It was a pleasure to meet with many family frie...

The Grange Fair

Elizabeth Voight 2018 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen A quick stop to The Grange Fair was made on August 21!  This was the fair where my mom grew up showing her animals at.  She sh owed market steers, crossbred hogs, as well as a Quarter horse.  Having said that, I was so excited to visit this fair!  As soon as I arrived I was introduced to the 2018 Centre County Grange Fair Queen and the 2018 Centre County Grange Fair Queen Runner-up.  Then,  I was given a wonderful tour of the Grange Fair.  The Grange Park encompasses about 264 acres, which is one of the largest fairs in the state!  After I was given the tour I enjoyed catching up with family friends who show at the fair.  Then, I enjoyed some chicken corn soup in a bread bowl with my grandparents!  Thank you to the Great Grange Fair, for a lovely visit!

Somerset County Fair

Elizabeth Voight 2018 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen August 19 marked another day of attending another fair!  Again, I could not help but admire the beautiful rural country side and mountains of Pennsylvania.  I attended the Somerset County Fair!  As soon as I arrived I was immediately greeted by the 2017 Somerset County Fair Queen Ms. Mikayla Hagerty and her lovely parents.  It was so nice to here all about her reign this past year!  Then, we were joined by more queens from around the area.  I was so honored to speak and help at the crowning of the 2018 Somerset Fair Queen.  Congratulations to the newly crowned 2018 Somerset County Fair Queen!  I then, enjoyed a walking taco with my grandparents.  After the meal it was on to the Somerset parade.  Thank you Somerset County Fair for allowing me to be apart of your wonderful fair!

Elizabeth Voight 2018 Pennsylvania State Fair Queen On August 17, I had the opportunity to attend the McKean County Fair Association!   I started off my day with a tour of the fairgrounds given by John Berne the Chairmen of the Board for the Fair Queen Program.  Then, it was a pleasure to speak and help at the family games events with the McKean County Fair Queen Court!  It was so awesome to see families having such a wonderful time at this event.  After that, my mom and I enjoyed a tour of the barns given by the royalty.  I even got to hold a goat!  How cool is that? Special thanks to you, McKean County Fair Association, for a lovely visit!
